What You’ll Do:

  • Lead business development activities of products and/or services to government agencies, Large Prime System Integrators, commercial and international firms   
  • Maintain key business development contacts with current and potential customers
  • Evaluate and manages new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures
  • Oversee market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs
  • Serve as capture manager for assigned opportunities
  • Define vision, strategies, and tactics for assigned business development opportunities
  • Assists in the formulation of advertising campaigns and approves publicity releases and promotional activities
  • Advise higher management on status or action required in connection with existing and potential business development opportunities
  • Develop and administers schedules, performance requirements; responsible for budgets.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives
  • Direct the development of short- and long-range objectives and recommends goals to higher management
  • Adept at all facets of business development and capture
  • Support creation of business strategies for growth
  • Able to articulate examples of having identified, pursued and won medium to large capture efforts in areas related to business
  • Maintain a substantial of government contracting and acquisition practices
  • Able to thrive in a highly interactive team environment
  • May require an understanding of international business and export processes
  • Work well under pressure with the ability to simultaneously deliver on multiple tasks and/or priorities
  • Responsible for establishing and achieving operational objectives for area of responsibility
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
  • Expected to integrate highly complex activities within their discipline and across functional and project boundaries
  • Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
  • Direct oversight of a complex function or project of moderate size and significant complexity or company-wide impact
  • Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
  • Interact frequently with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications Strategy & Business Development
  • Lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives
  • Demonstrate and use a depth of organizational knowledge that results in superior performance in delivery of products, services or proposals to customers or collaboration across functions
  • Require the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
  • Assignments are objective oriented.
  • Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect
  • Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization’s objectives and timelines
  • Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation
  • Decisions have an extended impact on work processes and outcomes
  • Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations, cause substantial expenditure of additional time, human resources, and funds; and jeopardize future business activity
  • Exercise supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing
  • In some instances this manager may have subordinate managers
  • Rely on resources external to the department or GDMS for implementation
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate’s assignments to subordinates
  • Manage subordinate management and/or experienced specialist employees who exercise significant latitude and independence
  • May have responsibility for managing people, including performance evaluations and pay increase recommendations
  • May also be responsible for hire/fire decisions

 

What You’ll Need:

  • security clearance is preferred at of hire.
  • Substantial understanding of specific areas within assigned market, to include budgets, customer priorities, mission gaps and market dynamics
  • Demonstrated understanding of business strategies and technical issues as they relate to business growth
  • Substantial knowledge of Satellite Communications missions, products and technologies including current and future applications
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers and internal counterparts

 *U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
