Supply Chain Management (Electrical Buyer)

  • Administer all affairs between company and major subcontractors for various types of subcontracts including both fixed price and cost reimbursement.
  • Analyze Oracle system material needs including issuance of material requisitions.
  • Issue RFQs/RFPs and analyze proposals and offers.
  • Negotiate proposals and offers to meet program and cost targets.
  • Conduct cost and price analysis as required, as well as proposal fact finding.
  • Prepare, place, and administer/monitor purchase orders to assure supplier meets performance standards, including contractual terms and conditions.
  • Expedite purchase orders via communication and on-site program reviews.
  • Serve as a focal point on issues between the supplier and any/all company functional departments.
  • Participate in purchase order audits and in company continuous improvement projects.


  • Advanced communication skills, both written and oral; able to communicate with all org. levels
  • Multi-task; properly manages work day and buying deck.
  • Experience in cost and price analysis and write-ups.
  • Excellent business acumen including proven ability to negotiate.
  • Interpret and comprehend FAR, DFAR and DoD acquisitions.
  • Positive attitude, proactive, promotes and works well in a team environment to meet team objectives and performance metrics.
  • Experience with Oracle MRP is preferred, however not required.
  • Perform under deadline pressure, provide timely updates, and report status to all involved.
  • Potential for occasional domestic travel.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. as well as internet business applications are desired.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of procurement/purchasing experience required along with a Bachelor's degree in a Business area of study, Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Other areas of study will be considered with commensurate experience.
