    Principal Estimator

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, develop, calculate, analyze and prepare cost proposals for product and services.
    • Ensure proposals conform to company procedures and meet Federal Acquisition guidelines.
    • Assist analyzing the customer's requirements, translating those requirements into specific instructions to all internal functions, and monitoring responses for conformity to the instructions
    • Combine numerical data, either manual or electronic, together in a computer pricing model
    • Prepare summary analyses, reports and the submittal documents that consolidate cost and text into comprehensive volumes;
    • Participate on proposal teams as a Principal Estimator responsible for preparation and assembly of cost proposals
    • Support contract negotiations as well as internal and external audits.
    • Identify areas for process improvements and assist in implementation of revised processes.

    Qualifications

    • Specific knowledge is required of how Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) impact the cost proposal process is preferred.
    • Direct first-hand cost proposal experience is desired. Experience in Program Management, Finance or Accounting would be beneficial.
    • Occasional travel to customer or vendor locations may be required.
    • Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and have proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software applications.
    • Defense experience a plus.
    • Experience with ProPricer and Oracle preferred

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
