    Senior RF/Electronics Engineering Lead

     (US Citizenship Required*)

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the business capture team in the RF subsystem assessments to design and development concept, including proposal preparation of shipboard Electronic Warfare (EW) system.
    • Electrical Engineering trades and overall System Hardware design and validation, including selecting Radio Frequency (RF) components, Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) network, analytic processing hardware and storage and remote access/interface capability.
    • Develop System Design, including fulfill requirements, define functions and features, rack and stack concepts, adhere to specifications and meet design objectives involving the RF and COTS hardware assemblies and subsystems.
    • Support configurational definition, preliminary, and detailed design of RF assemblies including analysis and simulation/modeling of RF and System Hardware performance.
    • Assess Hardware System design w/r to compliance with MIL Standards and Specifications.
    • Evaluate Customer RF requirements as they apply to the RF capabilities to include preparation and delivery of customer briefings and capability demonstrations.
    • Support business development activities through analysis of customer and market requirements supported by vendor products/capabilities. Recommend developing new capabilities to support market and customer needs.
    • Lead requirements analysis, definition, and management, functional and performance analyses, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements with little or no supervision
    • Lead technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements
    • Lead customer requirements analysis, develop system requirements and define allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)
    • Lead detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem or system elements: concept, requirements, design, fabrication, integration, test, acceptance, delivery, installation, training, operation, maintenance and disposal
    • Contribute to detailed technical analyses at the System of System (SOS) level
    • Lead evaluations of systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
    • Synthesize solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints
    • Lead Modeling and Simulation activities
    • Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
    • Choose standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support generation of technical engineering products
    • Perform or lead development of technical strategies and teaming strategies on multiple projects
    • Contribute to Product Family/Product Lines
    • Supervise or manage lower level employees
    • Lead technical tasks for large teams or projects
    • Lead small technical proposals and contribute to medium sized proposals; May be a book boss on a medium proposal
    • Lead generation of medium to large subcontract Statement of Works (SOWs)
    • Guide successful completion of major programs and projects
    • Work on advanced architectures that may result in new business for the company
    • Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
    • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
    • Design a complete and complex framework, system or product.
    • Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, use skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
    • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
    • Serve as consultant to management and customers on projects and applications
    • Work under consultative direction on predetermined long range objectives
    • Work on unusually complex problems and provide creative and innovative solutions
    • May function in a Deputy Program Manager Engineering (DPME) role
    • May serve as company technical spokesperson
    • Travel and/or security clearance may be required
    • May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly
    • May develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems

    Qualifications

    • Required – TS SI/TK security clearance is required at time of hire.
    • Able and willing to travel CONUS 25-50%
    • Communication system architectures, capabilities and constraints/limitations
    • Digital Processing and Server COTS products
    • Non-Blocking Enterprise data network switches
    • Design and development experience with EW/SIGINT systems
    • DF Processing techniques and implementation strategies
    • Up/down Converters; Tuners, Receivers, Transmitters
    • RF Distribution and Signal Conditioning (e.g. band and notch filtering, etc.); RF Power amplifiers
    • Cascade/Path Loss analysis and solutions
    • Knowledge of advanced antenna technologies and performance with the ability to model antenna impacts on received and transmitted signals.
    • Previous experience as an IPT Lead
    • Demonstrated use, understanding and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories; also with requirements management, system design & system modeling tools
    • Recognizes various architectural patterns, applies them appropriately, understands strengths/weaknesses within those architectures and develops architectural variations as necessary
    • Familiar with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
    • Creative thinker; Able to multi-task
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, including communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly report information relevant to sound systems engineering design
    • Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls

    *US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics with at least 10 years’ experience in RF communications and EW systems design, test and verification (or equivalent experience), or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
