    Senior Integration and Test Engineering Lead

     (US Citizenship Required*)

    Fairfax, VA



    • Assess system level functional and performance requirements that directly support the EW/IO mission needs given a multi-mission environment
    • Work closely with the engineering and capture teams to define software and integration/test environments and methodologies to perform integration and internal and formal customer testing of subsystems and the system as a whole
    • Develop integration and test approaches as part of an Agile Development methodology and process of defining formal IV&V and C&A test plans and procedures
    • Plan for the coordination of all testing, ATP and regression testing at the SIL and at Government locations/facilities
    • Manage incremental integration, testing and demonstration of systems level functions that correspond to specific system and/or derived requirements
    • Develop buildup, integration and system level test approaches and plans that tie back to operational needs, goals, and missions
    • Evaluate customer requirements as they apply to the system level capabilities and performance to include preparation and delivery of customer briefings and capability demonstrations
    • Support business development activities by analyzing customer and market requirements and the suitability of vendor products/capabilities; recommend development of new capabilities in support of market and customer needs
    • Support planning of technical approaches, resources, schedule, budget and equipment required for testing and evaluating new systems, products and special devices
    • Execute test approach and document system verification throughout the engineering development lifecycle
    • Generate system test work products by applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools
    • Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures for new products
    • Develop and conduct functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
    • Assist design, development and implementation of cost-effective methods to test and troubleshoot hardware, software and systems for all phases of product development and manufacturing
    • Isolate and document issues and defects
    • Support generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
    • Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
    • Lead technical tasks for small teams or projects; lead and/or direct lower level employees, may supervise lower level employees; exercise latitude in technical objectives of assignments
    • Begin to provide engineering support to proposals; guide successful completion of major programs and projects
    • Frequent contact with managers within and outside of Engineering, with project teams across the company, with external customers and vendors; occasional contact with Business Development
    • Recognized internally and/or externally as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areas


    • Required – TS SI/TK security clearance is required at time of hire.
    • Able and willing to travel CONUS 25-50%
    • Familiar with the FCA and PCA process along with the associated deliverables
    • Understands surface, subsurface, airborne communication system operations
    • Developed Test Plans and Procedures
    • Served as both an Integrator and System Tester along with a Test Director for an ATP
    • Experience with defensive and offensive EW/IO as it relates to platform(s) survivability
    • Knowledge of comms signal processing techniques
    • Understands EW/IO system architectures
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and conduct large system integration and test; also Customer expectations regarding C&A testing; also internal subsystem integration and test and eventual sell-off to Systems Engineering
    • Previous experience as an IPT Lead
    • Strong use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
    • Contributes to the development of new theories and methods
    • Actively contributes to the achievement of business objectives
    • Strong in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills: issues, impacts, and corrective actions
    • Able to think creatively & good at multi-tasking
    • Strong ability to clearly report information relevant to sound test engineering
    • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
    • Strong understanding of basic project leadership principles including cost performance, schedule milestones, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), key performance parameters and Statistical Process Controls
    • Strong ability and willingness to help anticipate and shape business opportunities

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with ESM/IO domains of EW; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with ESM/IO domains of EW.
