    Join a team where Engineering really matters! Our Global Services is seeking a design and analysis engineer 3 in Avionics and Flight Controls (AVFC) Engineering on the C-17 Military Airlifter Program. AVFC team members develop and test associated systems in a fast paced Agile engineering environment. You will research and integrate new technologies that support the world’s finest airlift aircraft. You will also have the opportunity to work with Air Force customers using the latest engineering techniques to design and test C-17 aircraft sensors, controls, communications, avionics, and flight systems.


    • Develop electronic and electrical flight control system solutions
    • Participate in modification projects for flight control hardware and software designs based on platform requirements
    • Execute systems and software testing to verify operational and functional requirements
    • Manage hardware/software suppliers' performance to ensure customer requirements are met
    • Support resolution of product integration & field operation issues
    • Research new technologies for potential application to C-17
    • Develop solutions to technical problems of safety of flight scope and impact
    • Apply solid engineering, scientific, and common sense principles in the context of organizational dynamics and real world cost & schedule targets
    • Integrate into teams and collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines in solving moderately complex problems concerning fielded airborne avionics and flight control (AFC) systems, involving both hardware and software.
    • Participate in full lifecycle projects to develop functional and interface requirements; design hardware, software and interface specifications; test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements; assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
    • Work with customers and their representatives to obtain feedback for product enhancements and corrective actions.


    *U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.


    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
    • Degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
