    Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

    Anniston, AL

    • Accountable for completion of engineering design tasks, Bill of Material releases and projects from concept to implementation in production. Includes all related design activities, calculations, communications, drawings and bill of material. Report to Group Leader and Director, Engineering Services.
    • Complete Engineering design tasks and project assignments which support production activities.
    • Coordinate own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time speed on each task.
    • Create Engineering designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
    • Perform Engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations.
    • Complete or initiate controlled testing of components and installations in order to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
    • Complete Technical Engineering drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
    • Provide Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
    • Interact with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensure that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
    • Supervise and assist Designer/Drafts persons on tasks as required by Design Manager/Technical Lead Group Leader. (Check Engineering documents, Instructions to Service, Shop Floor Instructions, Quality Standards and other documents as authorized by Design Manager.)
    • Intermediate & Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Check Engineering documents as authorized by Group Leader.)


    • Manufacturing & Assembly an asset
    • Strong CAD/Unigraphics, Drafting AutoCAD, FEA skills.
    • Strong teamwork, problem solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently.


    Education & Experience

    • College Graduate with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience.
