    The Project Engineer is a strategic technical position within the organization responsible for implementing technology solutions and serving as a point of escalation for technical support issues across departments.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, implement, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.
    • IT support for technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications and operating systems, as well as virtual environments primarily consisting of VMware products
    • Engineer and implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs
    • Implement and support disaster recovery solutions
    • Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
    • Implement remote access solutions implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop
    • System documentation and consulting services
    • Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of project progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
    • Provide best-in-class customer service
    • Identify and escalate project issues before they adversely impact the client
    • Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals
    • Develop in-depth knowledge of company service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs
    • Follow internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
    • Responsible for entering time and expenses as they occur
    • Work through project tickets and phases as assigned by the project manager
    • Enter all work as service or project tickets
    • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

    Qualifications

    • Professional industry certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Cisco CCNA, CCNP or VMware VCP
    • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony, communication, active listening, and customer care skills
    • Diagnosis skills of technical issues
    • Able to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
    • Able to work in a team and communicate effectively
    • Technical awareness: able to match resources to technical issues appropriately
    • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
    • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
    • Self-motivated, ambitious, and able to work in a fast-moving environment and stay calm under pressure
