    Travel Program Specialist

    Join our team as Travel Specialist to deliver a superior employee travel experience while meeting company cost-savings and duty of care objectives by providing data analytics, technology management and program support to the travel team. You will support continuous improvement efforts within the travel program.  Reporting to the Travel Manager in Supply Chain Management, you will be involved in regular consultation and collaboration with Finance, Legal, Security, Compliance, IT, and HR departments, along with frequent supplier interface.

    Responsibilities

    • Data analytics:
      • Maintain quality control and audit source data to ensure data accuracy and quality
      • Create, validate, automate, and distribute travel reports & dashboards, both recurring and ad-hoc
      • Analyze & recommend business, technology, and process improvement opportunities
      • Access, interrogate, and analyze large data set
      • Interpret and vet report output and construct a compelling business case
    • Technology management:
      • Utilize automation tools to schedule, execute and monitor team projects
      • Optimize existing travel applications to meet operational requirements
      • Manage online booking tools (Concur Travel) and supporting systems (Adobe LiveCycle and other workflow systems, Sabre GDS, GSA/DOD per diem tables, etc.), by providing programming, diagnostic analytics, and continuous improvement practice
    • Communications and program support:
      • Serve as primary point of contact for all internal and external communication related to Travel
      • Support site booking, negotiations, and travel logistics for off-site conferences and meetings
      • Engage with travelers and arrangers of travel to optimize program satisfaction
      • Identify problems or inconsistencies in the program and develop appropriate recommendations for resolution
      • Develop traveler education content and information to communicate throughout the organization
      • Facilitate live training sessions and webinars to train employees on policies, travel tools and resources.
    • Participate in commodity team activities
    • Perform supplier relationship management
    • Act as liaison between commodity team and other functional areas and suppliers
    • Support continuous improvement activities to drive material commonality and cost, schedule and risk reductions
    • Work on a diverse range of low to mid-level complexity problems
    • Work under limited direction

    Qualifications

    • Required – successfully pass a credit check
    • Strong experience working with data analysis tools (SAS; Hadoop; Tableau, R; Python; SQL; Excel)
    • Solid capabilities with office software programs, particularly database and spreadsheet programs; experience with Excel pivot tables, Vlookups and queries necessary
    • Excellent organizational and documentation ability to create and maintain detailed documentation for data warehouse and procedures
    • Strong problem solving; analytical; project management and communication skills
    • Able to prioritize and resolve multiple complex and critical issues
    • Audio, video and web based teleconferencing knowledge
    • Facilitation, conflict resolution and team building skills
    • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Solid presentation and reporting skills
    • Highly efficient and productive team member
    • Strong customer service skills; friendly, outgoing demeanor

    *US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required
    • Preferred: Bachelor's in business administration or a related field and travel agency or tourism experience
    • 2+ years of travel program management experience
    • 2+ years of travel industry analytics experience (reporting, data collection, database management)
