    Advanced Engineering Technician

     (US Citizenship Required*)

    Scottsdale, AZ

    Responsibilities

    • Support engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment
    • Perform a variety of equipment/process operations involving an application or technical skills in a specific area (electrical, software, manufacturing, etc.)
    • Interpret basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics
    • Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and adjust a variety of tools, equipment and systems
    • Conduct, analyze, and document statistically based experiments to define process parameters
    • Organize, analyze, and interpret data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommend resolution/process improvement
    • Implement and document complex solutions for process improvement
    • Design and construct basic tooling & fixtures to accomplish unique tasks
    • Perform complex troubleshooting to the component level
    • Work with Engineering and Operations Support
    • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
    • Handle unexpected demands and adapt to new situations
    • Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems & equipment
    • Assist determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
    • Assist in design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment
    • Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, specialized test apparatus, etc.
    • Analyze results and implement procedures for problems
    • May develop test specifications and procedures
    • May prepare reports, documentation/specifications as required
    • 2nd shift position

    Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
    • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
    • May require decision-making but with limited financial implications to the company
    • Focus is on completing tasks or activities supporting implementation of procedures
    • Normally receives little instruction on daily work with only general instructions on newly introduced assignments
    • Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory
    • Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools
    • Able to fabricate complex hardware
    • Able to use computers and software applications to assist in job execution
    • Influential with others and demonstrates superior communication and collaborative skills consistent with expectations for position

    *US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 year relevant Analog, Digital or RF troubleshooting experience,
