    Software Engineer 3

    (U.S. Citizenship Required*)

    Hazelwood, MO



    This position is to assist the program Chief Software Architect in developing product architecture for on-board aircraft (real to semi-real time) and off-board (non-real time but with user interfaces & database interaction) applications. Experience in the architecture definition of large scale, complex software systems is required.


    • Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
    • Develop and maintain code, and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
    • Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
    • Perform software project management and software supplier management functions.
    • Develop, select, tailor, and deploy software processes, tools and metrics.
    • Execute and document software research & development projects.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
    • Track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
    • Work under general direction.
    • Much of the software development will be in Bangalore, India. Most interaction will be through electronic means, but 2-3 trips per year to India may be required.



    • Expertise in Computer Systems Architecture; experience/skill developing complex data architectures

    *U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.


    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
