    CNC Machinist Tech 1

    Responsibilities

    • Forms and shapes basic material.
    • May operate lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, and profile machines, brakes and shears.
    • May operate light-duty bench or floor machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills or punch presses, power brakes, shears or saws.
    • Works from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
    • Sets up machines and makes adjustments, and performs maintenance on machines.
    • Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
    • Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
    • Interfaces with employees and managers within the department.
    • Works under general supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments

    Qualifications

    • Ability to read and follow instructions including Engineering and CAD drawings
    • General interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with others
    • General communication skills, both verbal and written
    • General computer skills
    • General organizational skills
    • Able to use mechanical hand and simple power tools

     

    *US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

     

    Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
