    Join our Electronics Products Shared Integrated Product Group at our Satellite Development Center as a Test System Design Engineer whose area of expertise is electronics test and automated test system design. Our automated test systems include those designed for testing RF/microwave/millimeter-wave electronics, power electronics, and digital electronics for space applications. Units requiring automated test range from single-board computers to switching networks, modems, and microwave electronics used in space-based applications.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead small teams in the development of automated test system design and deployment.
    • Support others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements.
    • Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity.
    • Lead development of test procedures.
    • Apply lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures.
    • Design calibration system/test fixtures.
    • Develop data processing tools and algorithms.
    • Generate calibration procedures and software.
    • Support analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements.
    • Perform functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity.

    Qualifications

    • Required – able to obtain Secret Clearance.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in the manual usage and software control of electrical laboratory test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, Logic Analyzers, power meters, power supplies, electrical loads, etc.)
    • Experience designing integrated automated test systems.
    • Experience performing integration and test on production test systems.
    • Experience in laboratory test operations
    • Experience with laboratory safe working practices, emergency procedures and the identification of possible dangerous
    • Excellent team building, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a commitment to
    • customer satisfaction.
    • Able to coordinate requirements with various technical disciplines.

    *U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.
     

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
