    The Scrum Master (SM) plays a key role in the Agile process helping other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate. The SM will assist the team in meeting their delivery goals. 


    • Exhibit Lean-Agile leadership and help the team embrace SAFe® core values, adopt and apply SAFe® principles and practices
    • Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example.
    • Guide and coach Scrum Team, Development Team, and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values, and how to get the most out of self-organization to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
    • Assess Scrum Maturity of the team and organization; coach team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
    • Remove impediments, or guide the team to remove them, by finding the right personnel
    • Build trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
    • Coordinate with other teams and an active member in the Scrum of Scrum meeting
    • Facilitate preparation and readiness for Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies
    • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
    • Assist internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
    • Support and educate Product Owner, especially in refining and managing the product backlog
    • Lead one or more Scrum teams


    • Able to obtain Secret clearance.
    • 3+ years as a development Scrum Master
    • First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM )
    • Personification of Scrum & Agile
    • Experience fulfilling the Scrum Master role on large development programs
    • Experience with SAFe® 4.0
    • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
    • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)


    • 2nd or 3rd level Scrum Master certification (PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC)
    • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 2 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices and theory
    • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)
    • Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study
    • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc
    • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
    • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
    • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, and handling bugs)
    • Previous experience as a collaborative leader
    • Telecommunications or satellite program experience

    *US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors of Science or Technology degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations
