    Managed Care Department Manager

     (US Citizenship Required*)

    Hoover, AL



    As Managed Care Department Manager, reporting to the Executive Director, you will oversee a staff working on the Integrated Care Network (ICN) contract with Alabama Medicaid. Your staff manages medical and transition cases, provides outreach and education to hospitals, providers, nursing facilities, and other service providers. They also oversee activities performed by the Area Agency on Aging.


    • Supervise staff working on ICN contract to ensure contract goals are met
    • Develop business relationships with external stakeholders to enhance contract performance
    • Oversee creation and maintenance of policies and procedures
    • Oversee creation of outreach and education materials
    • Perform quality assurance and provide feedback to associates and subcontractors
    • Demonstrate performance management techniques to coach and mentor associates to enhance their performance
    • Represent company at meetings and/or conferences to present capabilities or results on performance


    • Experience working with low income populations
    • Experience working in a clinical setting as a Case Manager or Care Coordinator
    • Experience analyzing clinical situations and making informed decisions
    • Experience in a position demonstrating exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communications
    • Experience in a position working with providers and medical leaders
    • Willingness to travel, approximately 50%
    • Has not worked for and/or been employed by the Alabama Medicaid Agency within the past two years
    • Knowledge of Alabama Medicaid regulations and guidelines is preferred

    *US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3+ years of management experience in managed care
